Chukwu Ogukwe Obasi PhD

Presently, Col, Dr Obasi is the Registrar of the Institute of Healthcare Marketing of Nigeria, (IHMN), an organisation, he founded and which is primarily devoted in harnessing the great potential in the healthcare sector. He is also the CEO/MD of LEADERSHIP INCUBATION HUB LTD/GTE, a leadership training center based in Abuja. Dr Obasi also consults for the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Institute of Healthcare Administration of Nigeria (IHSAN) and has delivered papers at many conferences and workshops.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Health Services Administration of Nigeria, and the Chairman Education Committee of the Institute. Chukwu is a Distinguished Fellow of the Africa Institute of Public Administration, DFAI and others.

CITATION OF COL CHUKWU OGUKWE OBASI (RTD) PhD

Colonel Chukwu Ogukwe Obasi (rtd) PhD was born on 27 Jan 1968 to Mr and Mrs Elias Anyim Obasi of Okotum, Akpoha in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Chukwu attended Akpoha Central School from 1974 to 1980. He proceeded to Government College Afikpo from 1980 to 1985 for his Secondary School and West African School Certificate.

 

He joined the Nigerian Army in 9 May 1987 as a member of the 24 Regular Intake. Chukwu was posted to the Nigerian Army Medical Corps and from there he was admitted into the Nigerian Army School of Medical Sciences (NASMS) where he studied HND in Dental Technology from 1989 to 1993. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in Sept 1999 as a member of DRC 11 and was promoted with his course mates. He was promoted Colonel on 3 Sept 2018. Among the numerous appointment he held are as an Assistant Director in the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Department of Standard and Evaluation, Abuja, as an Evaluator, the acting Chief of Staff (COS) at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Medical Corps and the acting Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Medical Sciences, (NASMS), Ojo Military Cantonment. He was also the acting Coordinator Armed Forces Programme on AIDS Control (AFPAC).

 

Chukwu in addition to his HND obtained the Professional Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Chukwu possess the Masters of Science Degree in Public Relations and also a PhD in Marketing/Public Relations from the University of Nigeria. He is a trained Leader with a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership from the Emeritus Institute of Management, USA, John Maxwell EQUIP and an Advanced Leadership Programme from the GOTNI Leadership Centre Jabi Abuja. He also has numerous Professional Degrees like a PGD in Healthcare Management from the PAN African University, Lagos and other certificates. Dr Obasi was awarded a Honorary Doctor of Business Administration DBA from the London Bridge Business School, LBBS -UK. He is a Certified Management Professional CMP-UK

 

Chukwu have authored 2 books: Leadership Principles for Junior Commanders in the Military and Public Relations for Hospitals and Healthcare Organisations. Colonel CO Obasi voluntarily retired from the NA from 9 May 2022 after attaining the maximum 35 years of service.

Chukwu enjoys reading, teaching and listening to good music. Chukwu is married to Mrs Princess Agnes Obasi and the marriage is blessed with children
